PMC RING by Linda Geer

Below is an example of a ring made from PMC+ with extruded hearts & stars.  The PMC+ was ran through the Sugarcraft Gun, sliced and then slip-applied to a leather hard PMC+ ring shank.   The edges of the band were filed for a comfort fit.  The resulting ring is .999 fine silver.

PRELIMINARY TESTING BY LINDA GEER

PMC goes through the Sugarcraft gun like a charm. A bit of work is necessary to clean up the residue. I found that lining the barrel of the gun with waxed paper was a good way to not lose valuable PMC in the barrel. Just pop out the waxed paper after it's all done and let the PMC dry up and then drop that into the slip jar. The lining of the clay gun is something I just started doing, and so far so good.

PMC is best extruded onto very soft foam rubber and left to rest for a while. Otherwise it will want to smear when cut. It can be left to firm up some and then cut, or brought to leather hard state in the oven and then sliced.

Thin slices of shaped extruded PMC can successfully be applied to a surface of leather hard or cured PMC using a thin slip as an adhesive. (sample pictures coming soon).

I like your product, Tamila! More info forthcoming, but I hope this gives you a little idea of what I've been doing.

The major problems are the extreme softness of the PMC.  Learning to let it rest (and having the discipline to do so!) was important, as was extruding onto something soft.
