FACE CANE by Susan Berkowitz

This cane was designed and submitted by Darlin' Designer Disk™ 

user Susan Berkowitz.  You might recognize the name,  as Susan 

has had many projects published in Jewelry Crafts Magazine 

Thanks for the great project!  Now lets get started!

Use the following Darlin' Designer Disks™ pointed oval & squiggle 

(aka wave) from the Geometric Kit and small heart from the Heart Kit.

Small amounts of Premo! in: 

turquoise, ultramarine, white, fluorescent pink, sienna, flesh/beige

 

EYES

bullet

Mix turquoise and ultramarine, and extrude 3" with oval disk for the eyes.

bullet

wrap in a sheet of white, rolled at the thinnest setting on the pasta machine.

bullet

Wrap with beige/flesh rolled at the thickest setting on the pasta machine.

bullet

Cut eye length in half and place the pieces side-by-side.

NOSE

bullet

Extrude 1 1/2" of the squiggle (aka wave) shape in sienna.

bullet

Pack each end of the shape with small snakes of flesh to maintain the curves at each end.

bullet

Place between and just below the eyes.

bullet

Use flesh clay to pack the cane; filling in the cheeks and sides of the face, just under the nose.

MOUTH

bullet

Mix a little fluorescent pink into some white clay, then extrude 1 1/2" of the heart shape for the mouth.

bullet

Place the mouth under the nose, and complete packing the cane with flesh to form a roundish face cane.

bullet

reduce as desired.

OTHER VARIATIONS

bullet

 You can opt to add eyebrows, lashes, etc. as desired.
